Since 2018 Surfing Cow has been supplying retailers, cafe's, pubs, restaurants and farm shops with luxury gelato, gaining a reputation for consistently producing top quality award-winning products and providing great customer service to all customers, large and small.

​

Our gelato is made using whole milk from our farm in South Devon. Our Jersey-cross cows produce the most fantastic, creamy milk which is what makes it taste so great! Our signature flavour is Devon Dairy; in Italy you might call it Fior di Latte, which translates as 'flower of milk' and that's why we love it SO much. Devon Dairy is a real celebration of the fantastic flavour of our top quality, farm fresh milk. The creamy yet fresh flavour comes from a combination of our cows' surroundings; the salty sea air, the rich grass they eat every day, and the Dartmoor water.

 

Our production unit is based on-farm too, so at Surfing Cow the food miles are more like food metres, with just a few hundred between the milking parlour and the ice cream unit. We can offer 112ml & 500ml retail tubs, as well as 2, 4 & 5 Litre size catering tubs in a large variety of flavours, including gluten-free and vegan friendly options. We do not handle any nuts on site and most of our products are gluten-free.

We are proud to have won a number of awards including Taste of the West and Food Drink Devon product awards, as well as being the South West regional winner of the Rural Business Awards 'Best Rural Food or Drink business' 2019/20 and Devon's Best Farm Processor at the 2023 Devon Farm Business Awards.

Our gelato is made in small batches to high standards, with a level 5 Food Hygiene rating, we are also SALSA approved, have a Primary Authority Partnership with Trading Standards, and receive regular consultation from external safety & hygiene consultant Jerry Diplock. We are also members of Taste of the West and Food Drink Devon.

Delivery is FREE (minimum order amount required) around the Devon area. At the moment, due to the small, family run nature of our business, we can't offer delivery outside of Devon.
